A country is in one of three states: open, opening, or refused. The list below is generated from the product configuration: it cannot drift from what the service actually enforces.

This document is a template and must be reviewed by legal counsel before going to production

The text below was drafted from the obligations applicable to a digital asset service provider, but it has not yet been validated by a lawyer in the jurisdiction of establishment. It is therefore not enforceable as it stands and must not be treated as a final contractual commitment.

Three states, not two

A country is open, opening, or refused. The difference between the last two is not cosmetic: “opening” means we are working on it, “refused” means we decided not to serve and that refusal is enforced technically.

Open
At least one payout rail is integrated and tested, the local framework does not stand in the way, and you can create an order.
Opening
Rails exist or are being integrated, but the opening is not declared. You can quote and browse, not order.
Refused
The service is not provided. A connection from that country gets an explicit HTTP 451 response, with the reason, rather than a not-found page.
02

Countries under refusal of service

Three families of reasons lead to a refusal: international sanctions regimes, restrictive measures aimed specifically at digital asset services, and money laundering risk judged unacceptable against our control capacity. To these is added the case of countries where exchange activity is prohibited by local law.

9 countries under refusal of service. This list is the one the code enforces: it is read by the request filter, not retyped by hand into this page.
03

Open countries

A country is open once a payout rail is integrated and tested end to end. The number of available payout methods varies widely between countries: that is the reality of local infrastructure, not an editorial choice.

04

Countries opening

These countries have an identified rail but the opening is not declared: integration under way, a local requirement not yet met, or a payment partner not yet contracted. We announce no date until we hold one.

7 countries opening. No date is announced: an opening date depends on a payment partner and a local framework, neither of which we control.
05

How the block is enforced

  1. A filter runs before any page is rendered and compares the country associated with your connection against the refused list.
  2. On a match, the request is rewritten to an unavailability page showing the exact reason, with an HTTP 451 status.
  3. The check runs again server-side at order creation and before payout: the IP address alone is not authoritative, in either direction.
  4. The country of residence declared and verified during identity verification prevails over the connection location.
06

You are blocked wrongly

IP-based location gets it wrong: travel, a corporate network egressing abroad, a badly attributed address range. If you live in an open country and see the unavailability page, write to us from your account email address quoting the country code displayed.

We check and, where warranted, correct the attribution. We never lift a block on the sole assertion of a different location: identity verification remains the deciding element.

07

Review of the list

The refused list is reviewed whenever applicable sanctions regimes are updated, and at minimum at every compliance review. A country can enter it without notice when a restrictive measure is adopted: we then have no latitude, and enforcement is immediate.

A country can also leave it. In that case opening is not automatic: a payout rail still has to be integrated before the service becomes genuinely available.
